Hi, I’m Amy.

Started baking in 2008 during a lot of downtime in grad school. I distracted myself with baking in the “spare time” between my part-time job, classes and school work. Beginning to bake consistently sourdough about 5 years in 2015 when I received my sourdough starter from a friend who lived in San Francisco. She got it from her CSA, and it’s the heartiest starter. Nearly impossible to kill (although I’ve gotten close).

Over the years I’ve transitioned from simple, no-knead, short ferment baking to a long and slow baking that yields an amazing “standard loaf.” After a few years of baking I find the challenge of time management of baking at home the biggest hurdle.

So, welcome to BreadLust. Pull up a chair, cut off a slice and smother it in jam.
